Indian Summer. What it actually is and the idea it conjures up in so many of us is a little different. Officially it is a streak of warm dry weather that is not the norm for that date in the autumn. What might this mean in a scrapbook kit during the month of September? A great chance to spend time outdoors at the park, out hiking, trimming our gardens. The flowers might be at their last peak of color before they begin to fade to fall brown. The forest animals and those in your own backyard are busy enjoying this gorgeous weather too gathering food and fattening themselves up. In the fields the pumpkins are still a touch green, the corn is just passing perfection, your summer garden veggies are still plentiful but an overabundance of them are all ripening at once - you might even be thinking of sneaking those 10 enormous zucchinis that grew seemingly overnight in front of all your neighbor's doors! With fall overlapping the end of summer we are starting to think more of fall recipes but perhaps still enjoying a few meals out in the open air with a sweater on in the evenings.
